The PE and sport premium is designed to help primary schools improve the quality of the PE and sport activities they offer their pupils. Schools receive PE and sport premium funding based on the number of pupils in years 1 to 6. Schools with 17 or more eligible pupils receive £16,000 and an additional payment of £10 per pupil. Schools must spend the funding to improve the quality of the PE and sport activities they offer their pupils, but they are free to choose the best way of using the money.
We have decided to focus on training and development to meet the requirements of the National Curriculum alongside offering our pupils the opportunity to experience sports and activities that they may not have access to at present. We aim to whet pupils' appetite and encourage them to participate in physical activity both in school and outside of school. We are also keen to build their confidence and self-esteem through controlled risk taking and team building activities. These include gym, swimming, dance, indoor and outdoor games.
