**HOT WEATHER WARNING**
The Met Office have issued hot weather warnings for this week.
School will be open
We are taking the following steps to keep children cool:
- Supplying ice poles for each lunch break.
- Providing ice for drinks.
- Having a longer break in the morning when it is cool, and an indoor lunch break.
- Encouraging children to drink frequently throughout the day
- Staying in shaded areas when we are outside before midday.
- Playing on the grass rather than the concrete.
- Encouraging children to wear PE kit or other suitable cool loose-fitting clothes. (Sensible shoes are still needed rather than flip-flops, crocs or sliders.)
- Keeping classrooms shaded, ventilated and having fans on.
- Doing calm work so that they do not exert themselves.
- We will not have PE lessons on Thursday due to the extreme temperatures forecast.
What you can do to help:
- Provide a refillable water bottle.
- Dress children in loose-fitting clothes
- Provide a sun hat for morning playtimes.
- Apply sun cram before school.
- Talk to your child/ren about good ways to stay cool and calm.
