Sport

Physical Education

We follow the national curriculum and this takes many forms from gymnastics and dance in our wonderful new hall to rounders, football, tag rugby, cricket, tennis and athletics.  We try to give all children the chance to become good sports people in the sense of fair play and a healthy outlook, but there is also an opportunity for the competitive element.

Swimming

All children in Year 3 and 4 also have 10 sessions of weekly swimming lessons swimming pool each year.  Our aim is to enable all year 6 children to leave us being able to swim at least 25 metres.  Many go on and learn not only how to keep safe in and by water but being able to swim greater distances too.

Sports Coach

We are very fortunate to have our very own Sports Coach, in the form of Mr. Coombs, whose enthusiasm is an inspiration to the children.  Mr Coombs runs an after school club to teach a variety of sports, including tag rugby, football and athletics.  The children not only learn the rules of the games, but tactics, skills and the importance of good sportsmanship.
