Summer 1

I hope you all had a lovely Easter break and were able to enjoy the incredible weather.

This term is a busy term for our Year 6 students. SATs are in the week of 11th May. We will, as usual, invite Year 6 to breakfast that week as a special treat. 

Our Enquiry this term explores shadow and light. Creating a puppet show and how artists use shadows in their work. 

Don't forget to log into TTRS for the Easter challenge – Year 4 are in the lead, you have 2 days left to take part in the challenge. 

PE is on Thursday. Please wear your PE kit to school. 

Plain white T.shirt, plain black or blue shorts, plain black or blue jogging bottoms and school jumper for the cooler weather  and suitable trainers. No logos please, in line with school uniform guidance. We have a selection of pre-loved suitable uniforms by Mrs. Dydes' office.  We are also happy to accept good condition uniforms. 

 

 

 Spring 2.

This term our enquiry is 'How big is your footprint?'  We will explore what this means to us and the impact we have on the planet.  

PE is changing from Monday to Thursday.  Children are asked to wear PE (a plain white t-shirt, blue/black shorts and trainers No Logos) kit to school for the day.  

Remember to log into Times Table Rock Stars for the half-term challenge.

 

Spring term 1

Welcome back after the Christmas break.  It was a very busy term and I hope you all enjoyed a lovely break and lots of festive fun. This term our enquiry will be: Darwin and Linneaus. What connects them? We will explore classification, evolution and adaptation. Our class text will be 'Darwin's Dragons, by Lyndsay Galpin. 

Home learning: learn weekly spellings; Mathletics online learning; read at least 4 times to an adult.

PE is on Monday. Please bring a white t-shirt, blue/black shorts and trainers.  A plain tracksuit is optional as the weather gets colder. Children can wear PE kit to school and change into school uniform after our PE session

 

 

 

Autumn Term

Welcome to the new school year after the summer break. Mrs Broomfield is the class teacher  We have had a busy start to the new term, getting to know new members of the class, routines and thinking about our goals for year 5 or year 6. 

Parents and carers are invited to visit the classroom on Monday 9th September, between 3.20 and 4.00, to meet class teachers. This is an informal session where you have a chance to see the learning environment and a quick chat with me.
