Pets at Home visit

The year 3/4 class had a very interesting and informative visit to Pets at Home, before deciding on the best animal to have as a class pet. The children were given the opportunity to handle and feed a variety of animals, including rabbits, guinea pigs, gerbils, bearded dragons and fish. After learning about how to care properly for the animals, it was decided that gerbils would be the best choice for our class

As the cage that we already had was not the best sort for gerbils, Pets at Home kindly donated a Gerbilarium, which provides the ideal environment for our class pets. This was a perfect end to a very enjoyable trip and allowed the children to put into practice what they had learned about pet welfare, by providing the very best conditions.

The children would like to say a huge thank you to the staff at Pets at Home!

We also enjoyed a picnic in the park and a lovely walk back to school!!
