Winter Term 2016

Christingle and Dressing the Tree Family Event

Families joined their children at school to make Christmas tree decorations and a Christingle orange to take part in Christingle service led by Revered Jenny. The tree was dressed and everyone sang We Wish You a Merry Christmas as the lights were switched on. A wonderfully festive family event. The refreshments sold made £32.

Breakfast with Santa

Pupils enjoyed breakfast with their friends and visited Santa in his grotto. FOLS raised £50.

Christmas Hamper Raffle

Our sumptuous Pamper Hamper, delicious Edible Treats Hamper along with many other raffle prizes helped raise £150.

Christmas Lunch

A festive feast was enjoyed during the last week of term thanks to our amazing catering team. Made extra special with crackers and Christmas tablecloths donated by FOLS.

Tea Towels

Every child in the school drew their face and wrote their name to be combined onto a tea towel representing the whole school. Some of the teachers even made the cut thanks to some wonderful illustrations done by the pupils. 78 tea towels were sold raising £45 for FOLS.

Christmas Cards

Pupils went home with a Christmas Card design pack giving them the opportunity to produce their own design which could then be ordered as a card, notepad, thank you cards or a mug. This raised £26.

Summer Term 2016

Sports Day
Parents were kept refreshed with teas and coffees before watching the children embark on their annual sports day. After all the events, the children were rewarded with an ice lolly. The weather was perfect and it was lovely to see so many families enjoy their picnic on the school field.

Leavers Do
The parents of year 6, with the help of FOLS, put on an amazing send-off event for the whole school to enjoy.

Nunton Fete
We manned a Longford School stall at the Fete and organised the Longford Grand National. Thank you for all your drink contributions - the tombola was a hit as usual. The ONB Fete gave FOLS a grant of £400 from the fete's takings.

Summer Fair

The Summer Fair this year was amazing. It was very exciting to have the Police and Fire Brigade there and the day was definitely enhanced by the Radnor Arms bar. The rain may have sent half the fair for cover in the school hall but we carried on without it dampning our spirits. Huge thank you to all of our helpers and to Richard Newman for providing and running an inflatable goal scoring game. The Summer Fair raised £370.

Spring Term 2016

Story Time in Your PJ's
Children listened to a variety of stories read by parents, Emma and Nicollete... some funny, some with suspense and some classics. Hot chocolate and biscuits were enjoyed by all half way through the evening.

Easter Fair
Kingfisher's Cafe and crafts proved very popular as the place to sit and chat with friends in between browsing the stalls and trying your luck at the many games on offer. A wonderful display of all the Easter Egg design entries provided a backdrop for the fair. Thank you to everyone who helped make it a success by helping in the lead up and of course attending on the day. The Easter Fair raised £255.
